TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4)

Category: compound

A synthetic version of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring peptide involved in tissue repair, cell migration, and anti-inflammatory signaling.

Mechanism Detail

TB-500/Tβ4 sequesters G-actin monomers, promoting cell migration and differentiation. It activates Akt survival signaling, reduces inflammatory NF-κB activity, and promotes angiogenesis. In neurological contexts, it supports oligodendrocyte differentiation and axonal regeneration.

Clinical Status

Preclinical for neurological conditions. Extensive veterinary use for tissue repair. Human clinical trials are limited but show safety.
